WHOA WAY WAY WHOA WAY WHOA! Easy there, tiger. You are lumping the entire PS3 crowd into a controlled issue. I updated to firmware 2.40 and haven't had a single issue. *knocks on wood* There are very few that have had system lock-ups and the ones that have need to transfer game save data to an external media (HDD, memory card, Memory Stick) then reformat the HDD and all goes back to good. Now, the Red Ring of Death is a major issue in that it completely stops the system from functioning and the ONLY fix is to send it off to Microsoft.

Now, I'm not saying not to go oot and pickup a Wii, I just wanted to make sure that you have ALL of the facts. The Wii is a great system and the 360 is a great system, I am simply a Sony man and that is who I back. The issue some of the PS3 owners have had with the firmware update is a relatively easy fix and is no way a major issue.
