People Who Sit In The Disability Seats When I’m Standing On My Crutches
People Who Sit In The Disability Seats When I’m Standing On My Crutches
This guy got so pissed off with people sitting in seats set aside for the disabled that he's started photographing them and putting them in a hall of shame. picked by Doggylives 12 months ago

Awesome Stuff. these people deserve to be shamed. That is of course providing they aren't disabled. There are a few in there that look like they maybe a little mentaly challenged

This IS great! I'm fortunate to not have to use public transport often, and it isn't crowded when I do. Hubby and I are always willing to give up the seat to someone with a cane or crutches, or a baby, etc.

Looks like he always takes the same metro/train, he should print the pics and stick them up behind the seats with some sort of slogan. Chances are those people take the subway more often too...

I take the bus everyday and I'm always willing to give up my seat to the elderly or disabled. What really gets my goat however is when mothers with children in those big strollers get on the bus and take up three seats. Usually they're displacing the elderly who normally sit at the front of the bus.

Not only that, but if there are two or more strollers on the bus, it's almost impossible to get past them without banging something into something else. My mom has told me that when I was a baby, fold-up strollers were mandatory.

Soooo, what's worse? Sitting in a disabled seat when you're not (visibly) disabled, or taking someone's picture without them knowing and then posting it with rude comments for all the internet to see?

So? What's the problem of taking those seats when there are no disabled around. As soon as they give the seat back when someone needs it, I don't see any problems.

I guess you've never been on crutches. I was on crutches waiting to cross the street with my three-year-old holding on and noone would stop to let me go. Even on the crosswalk!

I totally get this guy and the point he's making. I encountered a lot of insensitive people. But I also encountered many others who would go out of their way to hold doors open for me and help me carry things.

You're missing the entire and glaring point. This guy stands there on crutches and takes photo's of people taking up the disabled seats. Obviously then people aren't giving up their seats when there's a disabled person who needs one.

Yep, sorry, I did miss the point. I saw the title, but I don't know why, I didn't realised it while looking at the picture.

That's what I did. I just forgot about the title while looking at the pictures. Don't ask me why though. Look what I said earlier:

I don't get these people, I always give up a seat for anyone who is disabled, elderly, or under the age of 12. A little bit of courtesy goes a long way.

I just have one question.

Why are we surprised?

..I'm not. Common courtesy isn't common anymore. I wouldn't even BOTHER with a blog on it, we know most people don't care and he could be sued for posting the photos AND saying bad things about these people.

I don't live where there are subways and I don't take the bus, but when I am in a situation like this, I always give up my seat for anyone who looks like they need it more than I do; elderly, women, children, etc. Pay it forward...it's something simple that can make someone's day and it's really no big deal.

Maybe it's just where I live, but around here people are generally very courteous about giving up seats for disabled/pregnant/young people on the trains and bus. I've seen a few jerks, but for the most part people will go out of their way to be helpful.

but he's not identifying those people, nor hinted on where he is. what are the chances those people will be recognized over the internet? i agree it's bad to take content without consent from the photo subjects, but it's not like the blogger is making big money off of these stranger faces, nor is he identifying and locating these people to the internet.
