The Jewish Hitler Posted: 4 months ago by Marz
An article where Tanya Gold speaks to the descendants of Nazis who have converted to Judaism. Including one man who is a relative of Hitlers. The article is very interesting, but her interview with the so called "Jewish Hitler" is fascinating.

Young Boy Kept in Cellar, as his Family ATE parts of him. Posted: 5 months ago by Marz
Has anyone seen this? I'm horrified! I'd thought I'd heard of everything. The boy is only seven years old, and was kept gagged and handcuffed. Thank goodness he was found. The Thumbnail is of one of his torturers, who tried to pass herself off as a child.

Ok, it's an old article, I know. But, these are amazing pictures and a brief account of a trip into "Truly one of the last frontiers of Central America".

Exposure Posted: 7 months ago by Marz
Beautiful photos of real people in the world by Mary Ellen Mark. But what makes these extra special, and more touching, are the few words Mary says about each picture. Pictures range from American life, to famine in Africa, to Mother Teresa. But all of them have a compelling story.

Orangutan used as Sex Slave in Borneo Posted: 7 months ago by Marz
Pony was shaved, and tied by the ankle to a wall in a hut. When customers came to look at her, she would "present" herself to them. It took over a year to finally rescue her. This Link Is of a YouTube video, explaining the plight of Orangutans like Pony in Borneo. If you don't want to watch it all, skip forward to 12.47 where they show some footage of Pony, and speak about her rescue.

Instead of being put down Molly was given a new leg!

Captain Plughole! Posted: 9 months ago by Marz
That sounds so naughty, but the site is very innocent. :)
Basically a really cool animation of a pirate. I don't know how it's done, and I've never really seen anything as polished as this.

The Worlds Greatest Music Collection, for Sale on Ebay! Posted: 9 months ago by Marz
An amazing collection of music worth an estimated 50million!! The bidding has now ended and just look at what the new owner paid for his 3 million records, and 300,000 CDs. In one way I think "Bargain!". In another I think "WTF?? Who has that much money?!"

Villa La Paz Posted: 10 months ago by Marz
Or "Home of Peace" is a home for sick and destitute children. It's in Peru, giving a chance to some very ill and abandonded children. It is run ENTIRELY on donations. My cousin goes there when she can to work as a volunteer, and every year organises a ball to raise much needed funds. This year the ball is on the 29th of Feb, and I can't wait for it. The little boy in the thumbnail is Victor, a boy with no arms, and one leg. He is active, intelligent, and a favourite amoungst the volunteers. He's coming this year to the ball. I think this is a deserving charity, and I hope ye'll all take a look.

Amazing Footage of Whales... Posted: 10 months ago by Marz
...And other sea creatures. Again, I can't really give this site justice in the description. These aren't YouTube videos, but beautiful images of some amazing creatures. The opening sequence of the fin whale, to me, says it all.

Well, this guy built his own! Well, 2 actually, the 1st being destroyed by a hurricane. He can even move it where he wants, and the previous island had beaches and mangroves. Heaven on earth. Er, on bottles, I mean.

Wilfred Owen, War Poet Posted: 1 year ago by Marz
Wilfred Owen Fought, and died, in world war one. This is one of his most famous poems. Whilst in a hospital being treated for shell shock, he met Siegfreid Sassoon, who really helped him to express his feelings in his poetry. His poems show the terrible cost of WW1, and I think, whatever your feelings about past, or current wars, there's no doubt that the men who fight in them deserve our respect. Another of his poems can be found here: Anthem for a Doomed Youth

Should we introduce kids to alcohol early? Posted: 1 year ago by Marz
I was allowed taste my parents wine and once I was about 12 I was allowed have half a glass Sat nights with dinner. I was also allowed have a drink at holidays and family occasions. Now, at 22, I barely drink at all. I never had much of a teen rebillion with alcohol, not having the facination with it my friends did. I think my parents did the right thing.
