I can see the military's point of view.

It's mere presence can distract its caretakers and possibly jeapordize anyone in the vicinity.

Then again, having a dog in my own life means so much to me. To me having them *is* therapy, and one of mine is a therapy dog.

In such a depressing place to have something to hold, love and reminds you of your pet back home would give one, hope, I think.

I hope they don't kill it.

Didn't they fly a dog that a soldier took care of home to the soldiers family when he was killed? Why was that allowed and supported, but this is not?

Edited to show article I was talking about.

I don't see the reason in killing the dog. Not allowing the solider to have the dog, sure, but killing him?

What about morale ? A dog can be a great morale booster. The US army allowed pets in the past, why not now ?

I agree! That is what I was trying to say when I stated my dogs are therapy for me.

My son used to feed the dogs running around in Africa when he was there last year. They were so hot they would lay around in mud puddles to keep cool.

I just don't understand how they can fly a pup home to a grieving family of a soldier who took care of a puppy while he was there and now this dog is one that would be killed?

Why??

You don't kill a dog (or cat or any other pet) for any reason. You just don't do it.

It's just wrong.

Sorry for the bad English.
