Someone installed a wireless router here a while ago, and for the life of me, I cannot get this computer to access the internet when the 'boss' computer is here, even when I just disconnect the router and plug this confuser straight into the modem.

I had internet this morning before anyone got here, and I have internets now that everyone has left for supper and the coreshack is blissfully empty. I fought with the computer all day, trying to get internet (since my bro is in Chile and my bf on his way to work in Peru and I want to be able to communicate easily!!!), and I was ready to throw everything out into the snowbank but now it works.

I tried to phone the satellite internet provider for help on this one, but no help is available en anglais today.Yep - a straightforward modem will dole out one IP address and one IP address only.

Most of the time these days for domestic use you'll get a router with a built in modem, which is how you can have a whole bunch of devices connected on the inside of your network.

Personally, from the little experience I've had with Silverlight, I actually like it better than Flash. It feels more integrated, faster, and more stable. Of course, that's my limited exposure. :P

thoughts?Silverlight is for streaming content as well as for a couple other uses. Installed it for the Olympics in '08.

I'm directly connected to the Internet (via my router, anyway). It's a login prompt from the site itself.
